Nonsuch Folk Club
40th Anniversary Celebration
Thursday 10th September
A traditional Singaround evening
bringing together current and former club regulars
Bishops Waltham Social Club
Doors open 19:00 for a 19:45 start
The Nonsuch Folk Club was started forty years ago by Bill Long in a pub in Eastleigh, moved on to Winchester, and after several more venues found its home in Bishops Waltham. Bill Long is now 82 and enjoying retirement in the Forest of Dean. Over the years, the club has welcomed many well-known artists and built a warm community of singers, musicians and folk enthusiasts. Artists who appeared at Nonsuch in the early days include Martin Carthy, Norma Waterson, Artisan, Jez Lowe, Ian Bruce and Bram Taylor.
Join us for an evening of songs, memories and friendship as we celebrate
The Nonsuch Folk Club’s 40th anniversary.
Complimentary entry with
free fish and chip supper served at 20:45
This will be a ticketed event — priority given to current and former club regulars
If you are not a current club regular but used to come in "the old days", then please let me know if you are interested in attending the celebration.
If you know of people who used to be regulars in times gone by, please let them know or send me their email address. I am afraid I cannot chase up former club members without an email address.
Best wishes
